The Pedal Shade concept and design was developed by John F. Freed, an inventor with three patents and also an amateur guitar player. John got frustrated when playing outdoors in the bright sunlight by not being able to see his effect pedals, and most importantly, his tuner pedal! So he decided other musicians must have this very same problem, and the PedalShade™ line of products was born. For the past 35 years John has been the owner of Freed Instrument Services in Granville NY, a full service guitar and amp repair shop specializing in tube amp repairs and restoration.
